Third time's a charm
Sorry all, I am not a writer like AK is, so bear with my news reporting, or lack thereof.
After two previous assassination attempts, Captain Wissam Eid was killed Friday morning in a car bomb near Hazmieh. Eid was a member of the ISF and was allegedly investigating past terrorist bombings. (Gee, how convenient!)
In addition to Eid's bodyguard, three civilians were killed, although I keep seeing other numbers, including up to 10 civilians killed.
Cowards. (Umm K's opinion entirely)
Umm K., filling in for AK temporarily.

One by one the protective layers of Lebanon comprising of the ISF and and the Army (Internal security and National defense) have come under vicious attacks and prominent leaders within these establishments are being eliminated. The killers have seen how these institutions have successfully been able to defend the country against the proliferation of terrorist groups and their attempts at destabilization from going too far; and so they are now the targets themselves. If these two national institutions can be cowed into retreating and eventually breaking up or becoming inefficient, then the killers and their sponsors will have a field day and at that point there will be no one to protect the country from their schemes! I hope that all people in Lebanon realize the grave danger our country is in...time is running out.

And yet, everyone sits around and does nothing.
