Nasrallah declares open war: the surprises will begin

Nasrallah has just addressed Lebanese and Israelis and Arab leaders. Hastily typed summary follows:

To Lebanon:

..You are the people who made the victory miracle against Israel… the battle today is no longer about prisoners. Military responses are usually limited, and the Israeli response is not a response. It's settling scores with the people, the army, resistance and the people who defeated this aggressive entity who is not used to defeat. I tell you, we are before two options as people of Lebanon: either we submit to their conditions that they are dictating with US, international and Arab support, or we remain steadfast and resist.

I promise you another victory, as I did before. Today, trust me, we need to patent and unite. I know and bet on you being steadfast and ready to sacrifice…

To the resistance fighters: You are after God our bet and our nation's bet… you safeguard our honor and pride. You, after God, realized the victory in 2000. Preserve this victory, ...

To the Zionists:

You say in your polls that you believe me more than you believe your leaders. Hear me well this time: We have been patient so far. For us there is no difference between the suburb or mountain or any corner in Lebanon. I will no longer say if you hit Beirut we will hit Haifa. You have changed the rules of the game. You wanted an open war, an open war is what you will get. It will be a full war, Haifa and beyond Haifa , and beyond beyond Haifa.

We will not be the only ones to die. This time has gone. Bear the responsibility for what your government has committed.

Your government changed the rules of the game, by all means let's change them.

This is the first surpise. Right now, the Israeli war ship at sea, look at it now, it's burning.   

Update: Israeli TV confirms the ship was hit, says there were no casualties.

Update 2. The naval ship has reportedly sustained severe damages, Haaretz quoted an IDF spokeswoman as saying.

An explosives-laden drone, apparently launched by Hezbollah, hit an Israel Navy warship off the coast of Beirut, causing serious damage to its steering capability, Israel Defense Forces confirmed Friday night.

The incident occurred at around 8:30 P.M., as the ship was some 16 kilometers from the Lebanese coast. The blast caused a fire close to the helicopter landing pad onboard. The ship's steering mechanism also sustained some damage.

Several hours after the vessel was hit, an Israel Defense Forces spokeswoman said the damage was worse than originally thought. She added that the ship, still burning, was being towed back to Israel. There were some 80 people on board the ship when it was hit... Hezbollah has never before used a remote-controlled unmanned aircraft to attack Israel. But in a signal of its growing capabilities, the guerrilla group has twice managed to fly spy drones over northern Israel in recent years. The drones caused great concern in Israel because they evaded the country's air defenses.

Al-Jazeera reported that the Israelis are currently looking for 4 missing soldiers.

When Al Qaeda declared war on America, the Taliban did nothing to stop them until is was too late. No condemnations, no militray action against them, nothing. It's so painful to see Lebanon making the same mistake with HA. She'd rather share Hezbollah's fate than to condemn her. So sad.

These are the words of a violent, delusional man who has no trouble in sacrificing a whole people for the purposes of his exclusive vision of what is right. I have no doubt that HA is in possesion of some weapons that will inflict pain on the Israelis but it will be hard to envision an outcome that will be beneficial to any side if he does deliver on his threats. The policy of more death and mayhem will result in just more pain and destruction for all but especially for the country that he has hijacked many years ago. I am Danish and havent forgot how those madmen burned our embasy in Lebanon. Burning an Embasy is a declaration of war.

I see that those parasites have now finaly managed to get Lebanon into a War.

I have been surfing blogs in Lebanon the last few days, and I was surprised, at how inteligent and reasonable people in the lebanese blogssphere seems. I expected people to be calling for infidel killings and flagburnings.

I realy hope you get rid of those parasites that are infesting our contry, and using it for their own ends. And that the people of Lebanon, is spared as much as posible.

Maybe you should ask for NATO to come and help you kick them out. Israel might not be the best for the job, considering the past. And also it might be better for your future, that you did it yourself, with a little surport.
